This Is Ska, 1964
Jamaica is the origin of many great music. Calypso and Ska started there in the late 1950's and was followed by Rocksteady and Reggae.
- Calypso: Banana Boat song [1957] Harry Belafonte
- Ska: Jamaica Ska [1964] The Ska Kings
- Rocksteady: Africa (We Want To Go) [1966] The Gaylads
- Reggae: No Women, No Cry [1975] Bob Marley
This album is called 'Jamaice Before Ska'. It sounds like the early 1950's when Americans and English still occupied the Kingston Nightclubs.
- Mango Time [1950's] Count Lasher's Seven
- Chambolina [1950's] Lord Power and The Calypso Quintet
