Beethoven

Pink girl on a black piano.

So beautiful. The triple concert from Ludwig van Beethoven. Not played anymore nowadays, because of the awkward casting. I have a vinyl version somewhere. How do you get three world-toppers together. This is a pretty unique full concert movie
- Yo Yo Ma (cello)
- Itzhak Perlman (violin)
- Daniel Barenboim (piano, director)

He is my role model. I'm a fan of Ludwig van Beethoven. He was German. Same age as Georg Wilhelm Friedriech Hegel. Also a semi-genius. A super-great German philosopher, but completely incomprehensible. Hegel gave me a good gut-feeling for the rest of my life. Deep thoughts and great overview. I even suspect Beethoven's 9th symphony was an ode to Hegel's 'Phänomenologie des Geistes'. Nonsence, it was the German Zeitgeist.

I'ts a real difference between van Beethoven and von Beethoven. The "von" depicts (in German) that he was from noble descent. He was definitely not. Young Beethoven was a fan of Napoleon. His 'Eroica' was dedicated to him. Later on he became disappointed with in Napoleon.

There's a movie around in the cloud ('Copying Beethoven') about a young girl that's copying his scribbles for a decent publication. Grumpy, lively, deaf, old man. That's the way I want to see Ludwig (I'm terminal romantic). In this scene she is conducting the conductor on his first performance of his last symphony. Mind you, he was stone-deaf at that time. So lovely.

Totally flabbergasted when I first heard this music. Not sure how it became The European Anthem.

Yue must be aware of my Beethoven kink by now. Here is a clip from Valentina Lisitsa Beethovens's Moonlight Serenade.

Julia

Julia Fischer.

No, this is no accident, all pictures are black-and-white in tone. That's the hallmark of this blog.

As a contrast with my previous blog, I want to introduce Julia Fisher. She is a great looking super-multi-talented woman, who plays the piano and the violin as wel with big orchestras. Here she's playing a piano-concerto of Grieg.

She also can pretty good play the violin. Multi-talented woman. Click here to see her play the Mendelssohn violin concerto.

I stated before on this blog, that classical music can be very sexy. I even suspect agents and producers to promote sexy women like Janine Jansen. She is a Dutch fiddler with raving critics, especially in the UK.

Now, that was typical Dutch. To downplay our greatest assets. The RCO (Royal Concertbuilding Orchestra) was once pronounced as The Best Orchestra In The Whole Wide World, even before the Wiener and Berliner crews. That's something to be proud of. But it got little attention here in the Netherlands. They have a long Mahler tradition with directors like van Beinum, Bernard Haitink, Ricardo Chally, and now Mariss Jansons.

Mariss can even make the Wiener sound great. He is a modest genius. That's what we like here in the Netherlands. No pompous Karajans or Haitink ego's. Brilliant Italian Ricardo Chailly did some great work with the RCO but he was definitely a cultural mismatch. I think Leonard Bernstein (RIP) would be a great director for the RCO. He also was a composer (West Side Story). As a director he was more pronounced than Mariss. I was just blown right out of my pants, when I saw Leonard Bernstein explaining Gustav Mahler to an audience of 12 yo kids.

I just got my ticket for the Concertgebouw. December 19th. Balcony, best seat, 125,= Euro. Concert of the RCO with Mariss Jansons. Third symphony of Mendelssohn. Best combination in the whole wide world.
"Remember, to shave your armpits and dress classy for this event, and don't forget some clean underwear".

The last time I visited the Concert Building was with my highschool class. About 40 years ago. They played an Opera from Mozart. I couldn't understand a word of it, but it was very impressive. Some daring highschool teachers still have a warm place in my hart.

Drifting away agian. Back to Julia. In these clips she plays the piano with The Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, (Young German Philharmonic), conductor is Matthias Pintscher. Enjoy.

Silly Story

I Van Who?

Not my photo. All copyrights go to the owner.

Ik zit weer ongelofelijk te wippen en te flippen. Je kent I-van-hoe? Wie? Ja die. Lees even verder. Mijn moeder (duitse) leerde mij de engelse taal. Gewoon fonetisch inslikken en dan uitspreken op zijn nederlands en daarna uitspugen in plat engels. Cockny is het best. Hi Gov'ner. En dan schuiven er weer wat clipjes onder de deurmat. Pygmalion (1938) is een aanrader. Zwart-wit. Oscars gewonnen. George Bernhard Shaw. Eliza Doolittle. Professor Higgins. Kolonel Pickering. Mijn moeder was toen 15 jaar oud. Zij werd later een fan van Winston Churchil. Tweede wereldoorlog. Daar heeft ze haar engels vandaan. Beroemd dialoogje;

  • Werkster: If I was married with you, I would poison your tea.
  • Winston: If I was maried with you, I would drink it.

En zo sloop de zwarte humor langzaam maar zeker mijn leven binnen. Van de hak op de tak. De Ivanhoe intro kun je hier bekijken. Roger Moore. Sir Walter Scott. The Saint. James Bond. Lekkere vent.
De nederlandse tekst is zo gaaf geweldig om luiduit mee mee te schreeuwen;
  • Ivanhoe (solo, 2x)
  • Ivanhoe (koor)
  • Onvervaard gaan wij te paard met Ivanhoe
  • Waar hij gaat of staat, we zijn steeds aan z'n zij
  • We zijn paraat en zingen vrij en blij
  • Ivanhoe (2x)
  • Overal door bos en dal met Ivanhoe
  • De vrijheid in z'n leuze
  • gerechtigheid in't land
  • Er is voor hem geen keuze
  • z'n zwaard is in z'n hand
  • kom we gaan, allen tezaam
  • Voorwaarts met Ivanhoe, met Ivanhoe

Hoe krijg je een zelfgemaakte foto in je blogje. Ik moet weer even heel diep nadenken. De .jpg moet een url hebben in de wolk. Dat is wel duidelijk. Google onthoud alles. Dus eerst je foto's omhoog laden naar Picasa.

Nee, Ho, Stop.

Je foto's zijn veel te groot. Je gratis Picasa-account is binnenkort opverbruikt. Daarna moet je betalen. Wat moet ik dan doen? Rustig blijven.

Komt later.

Honda

Japanese director Ishiro Honda is The Godfather of many Godzilla movies. The series started in 1954 and is still running. There was a 50th anniversary movie in 2004. You can find some Godzilla entries on my blog. Instead of posting another episode, I will post some (re/search) links for you that are interested.

The legend originates from the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This triggered a gene-mutant-monster called Godzilla
and some more of his angry friends.

This is a nice-to-know background story to appreciate these flicks. It's probably a kind of way for Japan to cope with these defining national events (...).

Production quality from the Tokyo Toho studios is comparable with Hollywood; high. And the movies are always very entertaining.

The Godzilla movies are under-estimated and kind of hidden-cult in the west and that is a shame. They are on the same level as (say) the Hollywood 'Batman' or 'Spiderman' series; though most of these Godzilla movies were from the 1950's and 1960's.

I am a fan of Honda's Godzilla.

This looks like a movie-only blog (and probably it is) and I'm not going to correct it. Like some other guys around I'm just following my hormones (i.e. moods and tastes).

For Easter though, there is here now some great classical music for Easter. I just found this exceptional music in a top quality format.

She

All credits go to the original uploader

Where shall I start? On the right-hand side of my blog you find the surreal movie site (that needs a free registration). It has loads of arty and culty movie. And often you find some really hilarious stuff. With a 2.5 rating, this 1956 B&W movie fits in snugly in my 'worst-ever' list; a must see for all the retarded and depraved.

Poster, imdb and trailer will do for most normal people.

Using hypnosis, Dr. Carlo Lombardi claims that he can have his patients regress and recover memories from their past lives, thereby proving that reincarnation exists. He also claims that the spirit of these past lives can be brought forth to take physical form. A series of violent murders by a creature that seems to disappear into the sea suggests that Lombardi's claim may be correct. The medical and scientific community believes him to be a complete fraud but one enterprising businessman sees the opportunity to make a small fortune with Lombardi's ability.

The movie comes in about 8 x 100 MB. parts;

Christina

Her eye-lap from 'Picture' is iconic.

It's Valantine day and I picked Christina Lindberg [1950] as the super cool [ijskonijn] Swedish adult actress from the mid-seventies. She must be 60+ by now. You can read her full story on her Wiki.

I blogged Christina before and I now want to celebrate her again. She did some silly and cheap stuff in her early career (who doesn't). But then 'Exponerad' and 'Picture' were pretty serious movies. She was not afraid to do some extreme Japanese bdsm and rape movies too. Mind you, this was early and mid seventies.

[1] In 1970 Christina was just 19 yo. when she did her first 'Dog Day' soft adult movie (80 MB.avi).

[2] In this scene from 1973 bdsm Japanese 'Sex and Fury' Christina is whipping Reiko Ike (14 MB.avi).

[3] This is a docu type about early Christina nude moddeling and soft adult movies (200 MB.divx).

Band

Op Marsch door Amsterdam - Cover

(Sorry Dutch again). In the sixties all kind of strange things were going on in Amsterdam. I could make another 12-16 blogs about that. The Provo movement was most remarkable. The word is derived from 'provocation'. I was too young to join them then (shit).

Young people got arrested for handing out raisins to the public. You could make officer Grumpky really jumpy with just a little effort. Those were the days my friend.

Ex-Anti-Smoke-Magician Robert Jasper Grootveld was a big hit in those days. His performances at Het Lieverdje on The Spui square are still legendary among the old and elderly here in Holland.

And then ... I found this album with marches from the Amsterdam Police Band, also from the 1960's. I'm sure you recognize the differences in culture. With their 'Alte Kameraden' they were almost proto-fascist in tone. No wonder young people got upset by the authorities.

The full album is about 120MB. and has 12 tracks.

Eddy

Torment of the Flesh, 1965

Eddy Saller is an Austrian sleaze director from the 1960's. You would expect Italian sleaze from the 1970's on this blog. That is why Eddy is an exceptional and rare find [with many thanks to my e-pal].

Die Geißel des Fleisches (Torment of the Flesh) from 1965 was his first movie. This is just amazing B&W and kinky footage about a long tall handsome silent serial killer. This is Austria 1965 and the movie was an absolute shocker for those people. It still is very enjoyable with lots of nudity and crazy sex scene.

Don't talk cheap about Eddy – he did some work for the Comedian Harmonists in 1997 ; the best German pre-WWII close harmony singers. Ein Bisschen Leichtsinn is their most sexy song from the 1930's.

The Torment movie comes in about 8x100 MB. parts;

Hartmut also provided for Eddy's second Shameless movie from 1968 in a reply. Also in Black & White. Many Thanks Hartmut.

Shameless, 1968

A fan on imdb gave a recommendation for 'Shameless';

Yes, this is a terrible movie. Is it so terrible that it could be looked upon as great? I contemplated on that. But I would say no. It is just a terrible movie. Terrible directing, terrible script, terrible acting, terrible... well, terrible anything.

Sixty Five

De Kjoe Sickstie Faif in November 1966

Q65 (1965-1968) was one of the most remarkable raw-blues-rock bands ever in the Netherlands. They made a come-back in 1970-1974 and were from The Hague. Around the mid-sixties all the action was happening in Amsterdam. Also because of their short life, they did not had the exposure they deserved. Q65 re-grouped in 1980 for the “Haagse Beatnach” special event.

In their 13+ min. “Bring It On Home” masterpiece you can hear;
- B. B. King (He calls his guitar Lucille) ,
- The Doors (Gloria),
- The Rolling Stones (King-Bee)
- John Mayall (California)
- and even some classical fuck-music from a 1979 B-movie

Here is their “Revolution” debut album from 1966 that still sounds very innovative; raw blues, ballads, harmonica, sax, accordion etc.

Slaves

This is a postcard replica from wildpostcards.com

Oh boy - what a great hobby this is. In 'All Movie Guide', Jason Buchanan wrote about this film: “A police raid on a roadhouse leads to a war on vice that results in the downfall of a vicious gangster and the sadistic madam who runs his prostitution ring in this sordid crime drama from director Elmer Clifton. While she may be beautiful on the outside, on the inside Belle Harris (Florence Dudley) is a hateful monster who relishes the opportunity to turn innocent young girls into money-grubbing prostitutes as she oversees the day-to-day duties at the Berrywood Roadhouse. Though Belle may be a cold corrupter, her physically abusive boss, Jim Murray (Wheeler Oakman), is even worse. As the police close in on Murray’s lawless syndicate and his empire comes crumbling down, the truth comes out for all to see when the city reporters descend upon the hapless women he has so callously enslaved.”

It has a Wiki and an imdb entry and some fan posted the whole movie on the tube in 10 parts.

Six

The Brain Eaters is a Horror flick from 1958

Most of the time the trailer & info of a movie will do, without you DL the full files. How silly the movie may be, I want to make a serious blog for you. Here is my easy six step method;

[1] Google for “Movie Posters” (pictures)
[2] Pick a nice movie poster
[3] Drop the title in the imdb search and you find all the info
[4] Drop the title in the Tube search and find the trailer
[5] Drop the title in the Wiki search and (damn) more info pops up
[6] Compose and blog your findings – we all are very exited

Joseph

Franz Joseph Haydn (1732–1809) looking very cool.
Did you noticed the Black and White tones in the picture?

On your right-hand side you can find some of my favorites. The latest entry in the Music Department has many free .flac music [uncompressed, high quality, big files]. I stick to all the .mp3 formats for my daily music. But for exceptional and classical music the .flac format is my choice; put up the volume and your headphone.

This site has many more to offer. Their HQ music (in several styles) is an amazing treat.

The .ogg format is about the same as the .flac format and also plays fine in my WinAmp player. The .ape format is also an uncompressed music format, but does NOT play in my favorite player. Oh well, different styles, many smiles.

Here is the 30MB. Overture track from Joseph Haydn’s opera L’infedeltà delusa (“Deceit Outwitted”) in .flac format.

The full opera can be found here on this great site .

Jones

The Demon in Miss Jones is from 1970

The Demon in Miss Jones has it all, my friends - gore, sex (both gay and straight), necrophilia, incest - everything that a true sleaze fan wants from a classic trash film. The title obviously refers to The Devil in Miss Jones, another famous porn cult.

TDIMJ is a completely bizarre horror/porn entry that is equal parts cheesy H.G. Lewis-style blood-bath, and hardcore porn feature. Everything in the film is completely laughable so it's hard to take any of the sleazy going's-on too seriously, but I still credit the director for trying. Apparently, this film is quite rare as it never became popular (I wonder why) and was never given any wide spread distribution.

I have to say - if you're a fan of ultra-sleazy sex films, go ahead and download this one. One of the better horror/gore/porn films of the era - if you dig stuff like HARDGORE and HOUSE OF DE SADE, or bizarre porn hybrids like THUNDERCRACK, you'll probably be digging this one too. Sex Psycho also known as The Demon in Miss Jones, Widow Blue.

A fan wrote;

“Scummy, twisted, degenerate and all the better for it, this long lost X rated wonder from the good ol' year of 1970 was the brainchild of one Walt Davis. At the close of the Sixties Davis had directed several minor soft-core movies, however in the early Seventies Davis developed a kink for mixing sordid sexploitation with Herschell Gordon Lewis brand of gore slaughter which manifested itself in two supremely shocking features. The other is the outlandish Evil Come, Evil Go (1972) a gruesome tale of Sister Sarah Jane Butler, who butchers `love generation men' in LA to the theme song of `Sarah Jane, Sarah Jane you're insane'. Whereas Evil Come, Evil Go cleaned up, the earlier Sex Psycho fared less well- it was simply deemed unreleasable, never showing up anywhere either on video or the cinemas. Even the efforts of the producer (Cuban born sex film pioneer Manuel S. Conde) and a change of title to the more X friendly Widow Blue, all proved in vain. The Sex Psycho of the title and our hero of the piece, if he could be called that is Nick (Mike Haven- the cat burglar from Al Adamson's Brain of Blood) a pudgy faced average Joe who taunts and ridicules his sloppy wife (Sandy Demsey) over her coke-bottle glasses and natty blonde wig. A marriage made in hell, he's a sexist pig who complains about her burnt cooking, while she threatens to run back to her mothers whenever he says boo. Despite his low opinion of his wife's sex appeal, Nick is convinced that someone out there finds her attractive, especially when he overhears her talking to her lover on the phone. Enraged, Nick promptly goes out and buys a large meat cleaver, then takes to fondling it in his car with a look in his eyes that suggests he has more on his mind than cutting cake with it. Oddly his other half isn't the intended victim, instead Nick speeds over to his mistress Eva Blue, only to find Eva's bi-sexual husband Jerry Blue (played by none other than the director himself) getting under the sheets with Eva's brother Marshall. Egged on by Eva and helped by Marshall, Nick sinks the cleaver deep into Jerry's neck. Things become even more vomitious when the whacked out Eva Blue drags Nick onto the bed for some post-homicide heavy petting despite Jerry's dead body providing interruption `Don't worry about him, he's dead, dead, dead'. Dim Marshall is suitably horrified but agrees to hide the body in a big, black coffin, yet again though libidos provide a distraction. When the three Sex Psychos finally remember they have a corpse to dispose of a pair of Jerry's swinger pals Ron and Sarah show up and (only slightly fazed by the big black coffin in the middle of the room) quickly turn the place into a suburban swingers party!! Well remember this is the Seventies and only then could a scriptwriter get away with the line that comes from the ubiquitous John Holmes `we're all 21 and responsible citizens, so let's just take off our clothes and get it on right here'. Despite Holmes alarming presence, Davis reserves the freakiest moment for the completely basket case climax that leaves Eva screaming her guts out, Nick bleeding to death holding on to a bloody stump and his wife choking to death. Not without credence is the legend that a single showing in the dawn of the Seventies had potential buyers running from the theatre as if the Blob had invaded. What distinguishes Sex Psycho from typical XXX movie house fare, sealed its commercial fate. If the extreme gore didn't get to them, the scenes with Davis and friend would have had dirty mack dwellers deeply suspicious that they had gone to the wrong theatre. Davis evidently saw allot wrong with the world, Evil Come, Evil Go takes several pot-shots at religious fanaticism while Sex Psycho sees the world behind every picket fence as a cocktail of violence, insanity and false morality. Even so for their grim storylines and messages Davis's features remain cartoonish over the top and always on the very dark side of black humor. His Sex Psycho script is so mockingly vulgar as to bring laughs to the most morbid melodrama, also hilariously jarring is his taste in music with demented organ music and liberal uses of the theme from The French Connection and Night on Bald Mountain. A personification of the skinny, ear muff side burned, long haired LA freak that every conservative feared, little is known about writer/ director/ erst-while Mr. Jerry Blue and all round enfant terrible Walt Davis- other than the movies. Soon after getting Sex Psycho and Evil Come, Evil Go out of his system Davis wrote his way into obscurity, his last known credit was a script for Deep Jaws a film made in 1976 by Manuel Conde. Today Sex Psycho is best viewed as the black sheep never invited even to the table of the most extreme films from America's most extreme era and most extreme medium. Too much for audiences of the day, its still not for everyone but if you're looking for something unique, especially outrageous and with the explicit sex and death that comes with Seventies excess then Walt Davis is your man.”

Early Patricia Paay – sexy showing off

Patricia Paay is a Dutch ex-socialite, ex-singster and ex-starlet, de-re-friended by many, lifted-up and put-down. Now, let’s forget the ‘ex-‘ for a moment. She took her body to the shop and she is now probably the eldest Playboy Bunny ever. At 60 yo. she is on the cover of the next Dutch Christmas Playboy. It sounds so pathetic (and it is) butt on the other hand so very Dutch (anything goes). Local talk show tigers are hailing and breaking her. I’m just flabbergasted by this girl. It remembered me of one of her first songs, when we were both in our late teens. It is from ages ago. Probably we both never left the adolescent phase.

Her page-3 reputation got stronger in time. But we should not forget her original songs that can be really very catchy (sorry all in Dutch);
- Patricia Paay, Je Bent Niet Hip
- Patricia Paay, Sim Sala Bim
- Oh, Wat Was Jij Groen

Story

Rita Moreno in West Side Story (1961)

You have seen the Maria scene about 2 blogs ago. It was from the 1961 movie with Nathalie Wood (as Maria). That triggered me to post some more candies. Some fan posted all or most of the scenes of this movie on the Tube. It got 10 Oscars.

I’m not sure the sequence is right but they are all about hot and romantic music. This is the Romeo (Tony) and Juliet (Maria) theme, about an impossible love. Leonard Bernstein is the USA composer and he put the story into The Sharks and The Jets in the 1950’s New York.

The original production is from 1957, the movie is from 1961. Those were the early R&R and Elvis Presley days. I think it’s utterly brilliant how Leonard Bernstein captured this 1950’s mood. But then, I’m a terminal romantic.

- Gym Mambo – Hot Dance
- Maria - Tony is in love
- America – Latin Sounds all over
- The Jet Song
- I Feel Pretty - Maria
- Cool – You Can Die in Bed
- Somewhere – There is a Place for Us

Eustace Tilley appears every now and then on the cover

Never ever web news can replace serious journalism, despite Rupert Murdoch’s efforts to block Google news. Those are all cheep thrills compared to The New Yorker. May I introduce you to This Magazine? This is the Icon of Educated Intellectuals, not only in New York. Even here in Amsterdam I sometimes buy a copy from the central station bookshop. Their website is also wonderful. Pulitzer Prize Winner Seymour Hersh has some serious stories each year and that is my reason for The New Yorker.
