Found, lost and found again. Typically one of those rare finds that you do not watch every weekend. Julie (lead singer), Nikki (keyboards), Babe (backup vocals and rhythm guitar), Jo (drums), the Bitch (bass guitar) the Beast (lead guitar), Lucy (the slut).

Rock Bitch (1997–2002) was a notorious lesbian punk-rock band from England. They used to perform naked and do sexual acts on-stage.

Their "Fist Fuck" act in Amsterdam (where els) is legendary.

Sixty Five

De Kjoe Sickstie Faif in November 1966

Q65 (1965-1968) was one of the most remarkable raw-blues-rock bands ever in the Netherlands. They made a come-back in 1970-1974 and were from The Hague. Around the mid-sixties all the action was happening in Amsterdam. Also because of their short life, they did not had the exposure they deserved. Q65 re-grouped in 1980 for the “Haagse Beatnach” special event.

In their 13+ min. “Bring It On Home” masterpiece you can hear;
- B. B. King (He calls his guitar Lucille) ,
- The Doors (Gloria),
- The Rolling Stones (King-Bee)
- John Mayall (California)
- and even some classical fuck-music from a 1979 B-movie

Here is their “Revolution” debut album from 1966 that still sounds very innovative; raw blues, ballads, harmonica, sax, accordion etc.

Johnny

Johnny Halliday is a super star rocker from France. I had him on my radar for years. It was 12 years ago on Corsica when I asked for his music. But that was not done. Well, Corsica is a hip place.
He is now recovering from a medical treatment. The whole of France (and me) is involved in his story.

Que Je T’Aime (How I Love You) is his most famous song and makes every girl crazy (did I heard that before).

- How I Love You - tube
- La Vie Va Commencer – mp3

50's

James Dean [1931 – 1955]

The late 1950’s is a defining era in music culture. I love it so much. While in the USA Rock & Roll was born, in the Netherlands and Europe still something completely different was going on.

- Corry Brokken (Dutch) was the winner of the European Song Festival in 1957. A romantic love song about a marriage situation with pretty advanced feminine lyrics.
- Ricky Nelson was a USA womanizer, but the young boob probably did not realize.

Around the same time, there was this stuff around from the USA;
- Bill Haley [1956] made some teeny girls crazy
- Elvis [1957] made everybody crazy

Women

They are making fun of women (and men too). Hysterica is an all girl Heavy Metal band (Halloween, Midnight Queen). The 'Pain In The Ass' sounds pretty OK to me.

Shoes

Blue is a sexy color ('Go Cat Go'). Some great versions here;
- This song is from Carl Perkins
- And this one is from Elvis Presley
- And this song is from Jimi Hendrix
- A version from the tube by Black Sabbath

Moon

Trying and practicing. This is the one and only 6+ min. instuction video that helped me mastering the moon dance. Rating is low for entertainment value but it's from Cooley Jaxson. Oh, let's not forget our hero in action.

Jets & Sharks

I just read the story in my newspaper that the FBI was watching Leonard Bernstein. With other leftish anti-Vietnam artists he was in a scheme to embarras president Nixon. Jacqueline opened the 'John F.Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts' with 'The Mass' of Leonard Bernstein - one of his most radical works. President Nixon was not present. Oh, Lovely America (West Side Story).

Cynthia++

Cynthia Witthoft is a bi/lesbian culty icon, she shocks and rocks

Cynthia is a phenomenon, but very unlike Sandra. She is a musical rocky multi talented guitar playing bi/lesbian, born in Poland, raised in Finland. She has no wiki and she has no site. But her 20 year discocraphy is already 50 entries long. She played the blues with Tom Waits in 2006. And she does extreme necro metal too. Cynthia is playing hard-to-get. When you take a look at these 140+ album art pictures, you can't pin her down.

Three tubes;
- tube-1
- tube-2
- tube-3

Three songs;
- [2003] Brazilian Demon Posession
- [2006] Misery with Tom Waits in Haarlem?

- The Sky is Crying, Newport, 1969

Cynthia Witthoft - Finland Defloration

At last there are some torrents running now. She is from 1974, Warshaw, Poland and did an album in 2006 with Tom Waits (Bad Breath). Cynthia Witthoft grew up in Helsinki, Finland. This same region spawned many other hardcore and metal greats. Born into a musical family (daughter of a prostitute), Cynthia began playing guitar and bass at age 5, and showed an early interest in many rock styles. In 1989 at age 15, she started a progressive punk band called Polish Zombies; in 1993 she began her solo career. Called 'The Thief Woman', she has a habit taking for her own use (without permission) songs by others. She’s a wonderful guitar player and nobody can understand that habit very well. By now she is a Lesbian (Bisexual) Feminist secret ueber cult icon, because she still has no wiki. A Fan From Hell gives you many free downloads from Cynthia.

When you like her, you are lost.

This Rocks

Jimi Hendrix at the Monterey Pop Festival

The Woodstock festival (1969) was most famous. When you ask me, the Monterey festival (1967) was better. Just a few clips from both of these these great events.

- (Woodstock 1969) Carlos Santana - Soul Sacrifice
- (Woodstock 1969) Jimi Hendrix - US Anthem [Fender Stratocaster]

- (Monterey 1967) Janis Joplin - Ball and Chain (she's my chick).
- (Monterey 1967) Jimi Hendrix covers Bob Dylan [like a rolling stone]

There is this nice story about a discussion between The Who and Jimi Hendrix, and the story behind 'Burning The Guitar'. You can check the Wiki's and probably look for some Tubes.

Tom++

Tom Waits by Anton Corbijn

In case you didn't know, I'm a fan of Tom Waits. Also because of the Anton Corbijn picture. And then there was this other fan with a blog totally devoted to Tom.

Two songs from his early 1973 album 'Closing Time'
- The third track = Verginia Avenue
- Track nine is the Ice Cream Man (the one man band)

Two songs from a recent 2009 album 'The Ghost of Tom Waits'
- The fifth track = from Kristy Kruger
- Track nine is about John The Miser

Enjoy

Big

Jerry Lee Lewis, 2008

I just had this irrestable urge to blog the Big Bopper (the picture did the trick). Jerry is still alive and kicking. His Country Piano songs are among the greatest.
- I'm so lomesome I could cry is all Jerry
- Louisiana Man really swings
- The Country Collection has 20 tracks in 75MB.

Enjoy

Resident

This wiki-person seems to know it all. In my days this was the ultimate mistery band; members from the Beatles and the Rolling Stones playing together and many more wild speculations. They made over 60 albums and are still active (I didn't know that).
- Demons Dance Alone sounds like an early Tom Waits
- The Happy Birthday To Me song is their logo /iconic sing
- Kaw Liga is another so great innovative song
- Here is a 15 track Best Of album from The Residents (50MB.)

- Son Of A Gun - by the LA Guns
- Son Of A Gun - by Nirvana
- Jambalaya - by The Residents

Apache Longbow

I have a helicopter kink. "Romeo Foxtrot, Shall We Dance"
Some poster triggered me to blog this impressive song. It made me stumble upon this great track from the Woodstock experience.
- the 12:00 min. version from Woodstock 1969
- the full album comes in 2 parts
- The Woodstock performance from the tube

psw (when/if needed) = guaza

German

Oomph! is considered as the origin of the "Neue Deutche Härte" (New German Hardrock). Rammstein is probably the best known band.
Here are some great songs ...
- Beim Ersten Mal Tuts Immer Weh, Monster, 2008
- Mutters Schoss, Unrein, 2004
- Hello My Name Is Cancer, Defekt, 1995
and some tubes;

Eddie Cochran [1938-1960] died in a car accident in the UK on the age of 21. His older friend Gene Vincent [1935-1971] survived the accident. Many of Eddie's songs were about the joys of adolescense. He did so many famous songs in his short life. How cruel live can be.

Hans

Hans Aarsman, looking sharp

Hans Aarsman puts a photo in my newpaper every week and he then writes a few hundred words about it. It's a free course in looking and seeing. I never skip his articles. It's almost as exiting as Joe Jackson's music.
