Two movies in one blog. Because they are related and both are very impressive and famous. There was a recent movie that was inspired by these two, but I forgot the name. This blog is for the movie freaks. If it doesn't ring a bell, you should skip this blog.

Shichinin No Samurai (Seven Samurai, 1954) is from famous Japanese director Akira Kurosawa. It is the B&W 'mother' movie.
A senior samurai answers a village's request for protection from bandits. He gathers six other samurai to help him, and they teach the townspeople how to defend themselves from the bandits.
The village supply the samurai with three small meals a day.
The film culminates in a giant battle, when 40 bandits attack the village.

===[Second]===

The Magnificent Seven (1960) is an a-typical USA Tex-Mex western movie with a great cast. It has semi-cult status. The story very much follows the original Kurosawa movie. The cast is wonderfull. These guys were not all famous stars at the time of the movie. Later on, most of them became well known actors. A nice to know story is, that Steve McQueen was busy with another movie and faked a car accident to be a part of this M7 movie.
The character development of our seven heroes is pretty exeptional for a western movie - recomended.
