Runner

scene from 'Blade Runner' city

Metropolis and Blade Runner. Movies inspire other movies. We all know that. Quentin Tarantino makes it his hallmark. Here are two movies that obsessed me for some time now.

If it doesn't ring a bell, you should skip this blog, because this is a big download. All credits go to the original posters who are obviously also movie lovers – many thanks lovers.

Metropolis (1927, Fritz Lang) was hugely over budget and a big flop in the cinema in those days. It landed on the rubbish-dump of movie history. But then (don't know how) Fritz' genius was recognized and people started to reconstruct his movie.
This is the latest 2010 version, presented at the Berlin Film Festival. The 150 min. .avi comes in about 7 x 200 MB. parts with English subtitles;

Blade Runner (1982) is a direct quote of Metropolis.
