Rumble

Joe Frazier (left) vs. Muhammad Ali (right)

Boxing Day is the day after Christmas when the Anglo Saxons give each other presents in little boxes. A completely other meaning that crossed my mind is the “Rumble in the Jungle”. The most legendary boxing fight in the previous century .

Like the First Steps on the Moon, you woke up in the middle of the night to see this event. Then world heavyweight champion George Foreman was challenged by former world champion Muhammad Ali.

I recently read a story in my newspaper about the emotional scars this fight left on GF. I hope GF will become friends with MA again; both so great people. I’m sure you can wiki or google all the legends and stories that surround this event.

In those days, exposing yourself as a Black-Muslim was probably crazier than exposing you as a Full-Gay. That is why I am a fan of Ali.

Another fan posted the whole story on the tube; This award winning multi-part documentary is about the famous “Rumble In the Jungle”.

The heavyweight championship fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman held in 1973 in Zaire (former Congo). The title refers to the time when Black People were Kings and Queens in Africa.

Foreman was the champ favorite and Ali was pissing his pants while preparing for the fight. Just watch this multi-part documentary;
- Rumble in the Jungle – an introduction video
- When We Were Kings - part 1.

The casting crew also tricked;
- Norman Mailer
- B.B.King
- Muhammad Ali
- George Foreman
- Don King
- Cassius Clay
- James Brown
- Mobutu Sese Seko
- Spike Lee
- The Spinners
- The Crusaders
- Mariam Makeba

and some more

Enjoy
