Marlene Dietrich [1901-1992] had about the same sub-slutty image as Marilyn Monroe [1926-1962] about 25 years later. That was probably the safest thing for Marlene to do in Nazi Germany.
After WWII she performed in some USA movies and adopted a vampy image. She is still an icon among a few conny-sewers.
