Cannibal Ferox 1 [there is a part 2] is a 1981 classic by Italian director Umberto Lenzi, King of Italian Trash Cinema. It is that obscure genre where western people are haunted by cannibal Amazone tribes. The story is about a college girl on a suddenly turned dangerous trip assignment to the Amazonian world [do you really care?]. This movie marks a special triumph in alternative moviemaking in its graphic proportions.

The photography in the Amazones is great. On the other hand, the scenes of cannibalism and human torture are depressingly offending to those with weak cardiovascular systems. If you are expecting a heart-attack, this is your chance ... ;)
