The Man

Kyteman is Dutch

I stumbled upon three raving reviews in several newspapers in the past few weeks and the picture looks great enough too to fit my blog.

The day Colin Benders (Kyteman), age 18, moved into his apartment in Utrecht-Overvecht he threw away the key and started to work for days and nights on his debut album. At the same time he performed with some of the greatest Dutch acts, like Relax, Krezip, Voicst and C-mon & Kypski and participated in the ON productions Space invasiON and Dutch Rare Groove.

Now, three years later, he presents his own band (Kyteman's Hiphop Orkest) and his own his music on hardware. His debut album 'The Hermit Sessions' (March 2009) is a reflection of his fresh vision on hip hop: optimistic, soulful and pushing the boundaries of jazzy, lyrical hip-hop.

- This is a performance at the 2009 Groningen, NL Noorderslag Festival
- This performance was yesterday in Amsterdam, NL, at the Melkweg

I understand why the the critics apreciate Kyteman. The big group looks like a great mess, but when you listen carefully, they play a very diciplined, orchestrated and defined type of innovative sounds.

Enjoy
